Setting an Alias Name

With the Daisy Chain configuration program you can create an internal name in the device. This helps you to distinguish between devices of the same type, e.g. when mapping physical devices to devices in the Daisy Chain configuration program after a search for hardware.

To create an alias for a device:

1. Select a device in the Topology list.

2. In the Device menu, select Set Alias Name.

   The Set Alias Name dialog opens.

3. Enter a name for the alias and click OK to save the alias name.

The alias is created as an internal name in the device. In the Daisy Chain configuration program, it is shown only in the Mapping dialog where you map devices after a search for hardware.
