Exporting the Current Chain Configuration for Usage in Other Tools
The Daisy Chain configuration program allows you to export the configuration of the selected chain to an A2L file. This enables you to distribute readily available configurations for usage in other tools.
Note |
If you want to interchange chain configurations with other installations of the Daisy Chain configuration program, you need to save them to a GCF file by means of the Save As command. |
To save the configuration to an A2L file:
- Select the chain whose configuration you would like to save to file.
Verify that the IP address of the selected chain is set in the current configuration.
If the configuration contains chains without IP address, you need to set it first to make sure that the physically connected hardware can be mapped to the corresponding hardware items in the Daisy Chain configuration program used.
In the File menu, select Create A2L File.
Specify path and name of the A2L file and click Save.
The Daisy Chain configuration program saves the current configuration of the selected chain including number, order and type of modules as well as their parameter values.
For further information on the A2L please refer to the A2L specification under www.asam.net.
