Triggering IPC Mode of a Sensor to retain Measurement Accuracy

After a prolonged period of operation in a lean environment, some sensors (e.g. LSU4.9 and LSU5.1) may get inaccurate due to fatigue. To prevent this, you can enable the IPC mode of the sensor. In the IPC mode, the pump current is reversed for a short period, thus restoring normal accuracy.

You can trigger the IPC mode either manually or automatically.

To trigger the IPC mode manually:

  1. In the Topology list, select the Lambda device with the corresponding sensor.
  2. Select IPC mode from the Device menu.

A message indicates that IPC mode has been requested from the sensor, and the pump current is reversed for a short period.

IPC mode will take a few seconds; during this period, several signals will be invalid!

To trigger the IPC mode automatically:

  1. In the Userdefined Preset and Sensor Preset tabs of the device, you can use the Auto IPC parameter to enable automatic triggering of the IPC mode for the corresponding sensor type.

The Auto IPC parameter is only available in the advanced device mode.
