Checking and Updating the Firmware Status

You can open the HSP Update Tool from within INCA in order to check whether the firmware on the connected ETAS hardware devices is compatible with the current INCA version.

Note

Checking and updating the firmware status of your ETAS hardware from within INCA is only possible if a compatible version of the HSP Update Tool is correctly installed on your computer.

To check and update the current firmware status:

  1. Make sure that there are no measurements running.
  2. In the Hardware menu, select Check Firmware status.

The HSP Update Tool opens. It shows whether the INCA version and the firmware version of the connected hardware are compatible. Moreover it displays the latest HSP version which contained the firmware found on the hardware, as well as a list of possible HSP versions for the used INCA version.

  3. Check the compatibility information. If required, start the firmware update.

    Note

For information on how to use the HSP Update Tool please refer to the online help of the HSP Update Tool itself.

You cannot perform any actions in INCA as long as the HSP Update Tool is opened.

  4. Close the HSP Update Tool and return to INCA.
