Hardware Mapping Dialog Box

To open this dialog box, click in the Hardware Configuration Editor or select Hardware > Hardware Mapping in the Experiment Environment.

The Systems field of the dialog box contains the following fields and buttons:

INCA Hardware Configuration

Lists devices created in INCA.

Detected Hardware

Lists connected devices.

Connected

Displays the connections of connected devices with devices created in INCA. The type of connection is identified by different symbols.

Identifies devices in the vehicle by a flashing LED.

ConnectGenerate/button1.png>>

Establishes a manual connection to selected devices.

Generate/button1.pngAutoconnect

Automatically establishes connections between devices based on the identical serial number, the identical internal name (alias) or the identical type.

DisconnectGenerate/button1.png<<

Releases the selected connection.

Generate/button1.pngDisconnect all

Releases all existing connections.

Generate/button1.pngExchange

Swaps components of the selected connection.

The Filter field of the dialog box contains the following fields and buttons:

Host Interface Type

Displays the active Ethernet connection.

System Type

Selects a filter for the system whose devices are to be displayed in the INCA Hardware Configuration, Detected Hardware and Connected fields.

Opens the Hardware Mapping Connection Info dialog box, which lists and explains the symbols used to identify the connection type.

You can connect devices of the same type in the following ways:

The devices are connected on the basis of their identical serial numbers.

The devices are connected on the basis of their identical stack IDs.

The devices are connected on the basis of the serial number history. The serial number history contains all serial numbers already assigned to the device. You can view them on the Parameters tab by selecting the Serial number parameter from the table.

The devices are connected on the basis of the stack ID history.

The devices are connected on the basis of their identical types.

The devices are connected on the basis of their identical stack systems.

Opens the Serial number mapping dialog box of the selected stack system.

Note

This button is activated only for stack systems, for example, the ES8xx system.
