Recorder Configuration - Output File

To open this dialog box, in the Experiment Environment click > Output File tab.

The following fields and commands are available on this tab:

Path

Enter the directory path under which the measurement file should be stored.

To use predefined variables, enter the symbol &.

ClosedList of variables

You can define a default path in the INCA user option Measure File Path, see User Options: Path Tab.

File

Enter the name of the measurement file. To use predefined variables, enter the symbol &.

ClosedList of variables

The file is automatically saved with the ending *.dat or *.mf4 according to the selected MDF File Type in the INCA user options, see User Options for Meausurements: General Tab.

The defined file name is used as a default when you save a recording in an output file.

The file name displayed above the file field is the default file name. You can define a default file name in the INCA user option Measure filebase name (Preset), see User Options for Meausurements: General Tab.

Format

Select the date-time format you want to insert into the file name.

Increment digits

Select the increment number to use a file name with an automatically sequential version number for the next recording.

Insert default comment

Enable this option to automatically add the INCA default comment when saving the measurement file.

Edit

Click on this button if you want to add additional comment variables to the INCA default comment.

Comment

The comment consists of two parts:

To use variables, enter the symbol &.

ClosedList of variables

User

Here you can enter the user name. This information is automatically added when saving the measurement file. The Windows user is used as default user.

Company

Here you can enter a company. This information is automatically added when saving the measurement file.

Project

Here you can enter a project description. This information is automatically added when saving the measurement file.

Vehicle

Enter a designation for the vehicle here. This information is automatically added when saving the measurement file.

Read from User Options

Use this command to accept the information stored in the user options for the fields User, Company, Project and Vehicle.

Write to User Options

Use this command to write to the User Options the information stored here for the fields User, Company, Project and Vehicle.

Show Output File Properties dialog after recording

Enable this option if you want to edit the comment before saving the measurement file.
