Output File Properties Dialog Box
This dialog box opens when a recording ends if the Show Output File Properties dialog after recording check box is enabled in the Recorder Configuration dialog box on the Output File tab. The fields are filled with the defined defaults and can be overwritten. The information contained in the fields is automatically added to the measurement file.
The following fields and commands are available:
Path
Enter the directory path under which the measurement file should be stored.
Template
Enter the name of the measurement file. To use predefined variables, enter the symbol &.

&[USER] | User name read from the INCA user options |
&[VEHICLE] | Vehicle name read from the INCA user options |
&[WORKINGPAGE] | Name of the working page |
&[WORKSPACE] | Name of the used workspace |
&[yy] | Year, for example 22 |
&[yyyy] | Year, for example 2022 |
You can define a default file name in the INCA user option Measure filebase name (Preset), see User Options for Meausurements: General Tab.
The file is automatically saved with the ending *.dat or *.mf4 according to the selected MDF File Type in the INCA user options, see User Options for Meausurements: General Tab.
File Name
Displays the actual file name with the updated values for the variables of the Template field.
Write file settings to recorder configuration
Activate this option to overwrite the file settings in the recorder configuration with the current file settings. These will be stored with the experiment and used as default for future recordings with this recorder.
Insert default comment
Activate this option to automatically add the INCA default comment when saving the measurement file.
Comment
The comment consists of two parts:
- The first part is shown in the upper listbox with gray background color; these contents can not be changed.
They will only be added to the header of the measure file if the checkbox Insert default comment is checked. - The second part is shown in the lower listbox; this text can be edited.
It will be added to the header of the measure file upon saving.
User
Enter the user name. The Windows user is used as default user.
Company
Enter a company.
Project
Enter a project description.
Vehicle
Enter a designation for the vehicle.
Read from User Options
Use this command to accept the information stored in the User Options for the fields User, Company, Project and Vehicle.
Write to User Options
Use this command to write to the User Options the information stored here for the fields User, Company, Project and Vehicle.
Write comment information to recorder configuration
Activate this option to overwrite the comment information, that means MDF header settings, in the recorder configuration with the current file settings. These will be stored with the experiment and used as default for future recordings with this recorder.
Reset
Resets all changed user entries of this dialog to their initial values.
Save
Saves the measurement under the given name and path and with the given properties.
Discard
Closes the dialog box without saving the measurement file.
