Defining an Automatic Start Trigger
To configure an automatic start trigger for the beginning of measure data recording:

In the context menu, select the Open Recorder Configuration (Ins) command or double-click on the desired recorder.
The dialog box Recorder Configuration opens.
- Select the Triggers tab.

In the Start trigger field, select the trigger condition to be used.
To create a new trigger condition or edit an existing one:- Click on the
icon. - The Trigger Editor dialog box for editing and maintaining the trigger conditions opens.
- Edit the condition for the start trigger, see Creating Trigger Conditions.

- If you want a repeatable trigger, specify the maximum number of repetitions in the Repetition field.

To save complete measurement recordings in separate files before each repetition, check the Store repeats in separate files box.
- If you want the set recording time to start again if a new trigger event occurs during the recording, enable the Extend Recording on new start event check box.
- In the Pre Start Trigger Time field, set the pretrigger time.

Define the end of recording:

In the Duration field, enter the recording duration after the start trigger event.
or

In the Stop Trigger field, select the trigger condition to be used to stop the recording.
With a defined stop trigger, you can additionally set a post stop trigger time, which extends the recording after the stop trigger event.

Click OK.
The automatic start trigger is configured.
Start the measurement to use the trigger.
