Opening and Closing the Experiment Environment
To open the experiment environment:
- In the INCA main window, select a workspace from the Database Objects list.
In the Experiment menu, select Run experiment.
Note
If the experiment was created with an older version of INCA, a selection dialog box will appear to automatically convert the experiment so that it exclusively supports the new oscilloscopes. Pre-existing oscilloscopes are converted. Confirm the conversion with yes if you would like to work exclusively in INCA 7.1 or higher in the future.
The hardware in the workspace is initialized.
If the initialization was successful, the Experiment: exp Hardware: hw window opens. If the workspace contains an experiment, it is opened. Otherwise, a new experiment is created.
If a hardware module is not found, a message box opens. Click one of the following buttons:
- Yes, to repeat initialization.
- No, to open the experiment without repeating initialization.
- Cancel, if you do not want to open the experiment.
Note |
Once you have created the dataset by importing a data exchange file, the dataset can contain variables with fill bytes. Variables containing fill bytes are represented in gray. |
To close the experiment environment:
In the Experiment menu, select Close.
If you have changed any settings in the current experiment, a message is displayed. You can save or discard your changes, or cancel the close action.
If you continue, the experiment environment is closed.
