Configuring the Message Window for Exceeding Limits

You can make these settings only if you first set the option Message when limit reached in the user options of the database manager.

To configure the message window for exceeding monitoring limits for measure variables:

1. Define the monitoring limits for measure variables that are displayed numerically, as a bar, as a message, as an alarm symbol or as bit signals.
2. Start measure data display or recording.
3. When the measure values exceed the defined limits of the measure variable, the message window opens.

4. In the Options menu make the required setting:

   • View always on top, to display the message window as the top window on your screen.
   • Monitor phys Value, to display the physical value of the measure variables that exceed the monitoring limits.
   • Monitor long name, to display after the name of the measure variables the name from the project description file (*.a2l).

   The display of messages in the message window changes accordingly.
