INCA INI Files

All settings for INCA and its utilities are saved in INI files. INCA uses the following INI files:

  • CANMessage.ini
  • INCA.ini

    Settings apply to:

    - general INCA settings

    - Database Manager

    - Experiment Environment

    - data exchange

    All these settings are user-specific.

    File is read:

    upon every INCA start.

    Number of INCA.ini files:

    individual INCA.ini for each INCA user

    File is located:

    in the User\name folder under your ETASData location

    UserDef.ini

    Settings apply to:

    - general INCA settings

    - Database Manager

    - Experiment Environment

    - data exchange including quality meta data

    - calibration history

    Note

    These settings are used as default values, i.e. they are applied when the user pushes the Default button in the User options dialog box, or when user-specific settings are not available.

    Quality meta data and calibration history support is only available if the add-on INCA-QM-BASIC is also installed.

    File is read:

    when you push the Default button in the User options dialog box or when you create a new user

    Number of UserDef.ini files:

    common UserDef.ini for all users

    File is located:

    in the User folder under your ETASData location

    Note

    This file is not automatically created and therefore not always available.

    CDM.ini

    Settings apply to:

    - CDM

    - CDM configurations

    Note

    These settings are user-specific.

    File is read:

    upon opening CDM

    Number of INCA.ini files:

    individual CDM.ini for each INCA user

    File is located:

    in the User\name folder under your ETASData location

    CDMdefault.ini

    CDMdefault.ini can be characterized as follows:

    Settings apply to:

    - CDM

    - CDM configurations

    Note

    These settings are used as default values, i.e. they are applied when the user pushes the Default button in the CDM Settings dialog box, or when user-specific settings are not available.

    File is read:

    when you push the Default button in the CDM Settings dialog box

    Number of CDMdefault.ini files:

    common CDMdefault.ini for all users

    File is located:

    in your INCA program folder

    Note

    This file is not automatically created and therefore not always available.
    Tip: you can copy a user-specific cdm.ini file and copy it into the INCA program folder to provide these settings as default for all users.

    ASAP2.ini

    Settings apply to:

    - ASAP2 editor

    - ASAP2 parser entries

    File is read:

    upon starting the ASAP2 editor

    Number of ASAP2.ini files:

    common ASAP2.ini for all users

    File is located:

    in your INCA program folder

    Note

    This file is not automatically created and therefore not always available. If no ASAP2.ini is located in the INCA program folder, the default settings are valid.

    ASAP3.ini

    Settings apply to:

    ASAP3 operation

    File is read:

    upon starting ASAP3 operation for the first time;
    it will not be read again upon the next ASAP3 starts.

    Number of ASAP3.ini files:

    common ASAP3.ini for all users

    File is located:

    in your INCA program folder

    Note

    This file must be created manually before using ASAP3 for the first time.
    Tip: Export the ASAP3 settings from a working setup and copy it into the INCA program folder.

    ASAM MCD 3MC 4 INCA.ini

    Settings apply to:

    MCD3

    File is read:

    upon starting ASAM MCD 3MC operation for the first time;
    it will not be read again upon the next ASAM MCD 3MC starts.

    Number of ASAP3.ini files:

    common ASAM MCD 3MC 4 INCA.ini for all users

    File is located:

    in your INCA program folder

    Note

    This file must be created manually before using ASAM MCD 3MC 4 INCA for the first time.
    Tip: Export the ASAM MCD 3MC settings from a working setup and copy it into the INCA program folder.
