User Options for Measurements: XY-Oscilloscope Tab
To go to this tab, click the User Options
button and select the Experiment
tab. On the Experiment tab, double-click in the
Value field of the Measure
option, then select the XY-Oscilloscope tab.
The settings in this tab are only applied to newly added XY oscilloscopes; they have no influence on existing XY oscilloscopes.
You can make the following settings:
Zoom mode
Defines which areas of the axis are zoomed. To zoom in a certain section, move the mouse over the desired area while keeping the mouse button pressed. The respective axes are adapted accordingly.
If dynamic axis adaption is enabled, the zoom might be overridden immediately.
Not all zoom modes are supported during a running visualization.
Zoom Y Axis
The zoom is only applied to the vertical value axes.
Zoom X Axis
The zoom is only applied to the time axis or horizontal value axis.
Note
This is only supported in YT mode with the visualization being paused or stopped.
Zoombox
The zoom is applied to all axes.
Note
This is only supported in YT mode with the visualization being paused or stopped.
No Zoom The zoom function is disabled. Legend position
Defines whether the signal list is shown on the left, on the right, at the top or at the bottom, or whether it is disabled.
Icon size in toolbar
Sets the size of the toolbar icons in the oscilloscope.
Dynamic X axis adaptation
Defines whether the value range on the X axis will be automatically extended when a value exceeds the current range.
XY timespan
Defines the time range shown on an axis during a running measurement.
Rotation of X axis text
Defines the rotation of the axis label for the X axis in angular degrees. The text is rotated anti-clockwise.
Merge algorithm
Defines when a new value is drawn in the oscilloscope. This setting is relevant if the x and y variables are measured in different rasters.
A new value can be drawn:
- for each new sample of any measure variable on the x or y axis
- any time when there is a new sample on the x axis
- when there is a new sample for both the x and the y axis.
Signal line style
Defines the style in which the line of a signal line is drawn, e.g. solid or dotted.
Signal line width
Defines the width in which the signal line is drawn.
Signal marker symbol
Defines the symbol which is marking the individual samples.
Signal marker size
Defines the size of the symbol marking the individual samples.
Strip background color
Opens a dialog where you can select the background color of the strips.
Signal color list
Defines the default order of the signal colors.
Strip grid color
Opens a dialog where you can select the grid color of the strips.
Enable grid
Defines whether grid lines will be displayed or not.
Color of the separator between the strips
Opens a dialog where you can select the color of the separator. The seperator is displayed below each strip.
Dynamic Y axis adaptation
Defines whether the value range on the Y axis will be automatically extended when a value exceeds the current range.
Rotation of Y axis text
Defines the rotation of the axis label for the Y axis in angular degrees. The text is rotated anti-clockwise.
Y axis position
Defines on which side of the oscilloscope the Y axis is displayed.
Cursor width
Defines the line width of the cursor.
Cursor differences
Defines whether the differences between different cursor values will be shown in a separate column in the signal list.
