Opening an Experiment

INCA V7.1 introduced new YT and XY oscilloscope types. Within one experiment only one type of oscilloscopes can be used (see also Converting Experiments for New Oscilloscope Functionality). However, you can have different experiments in your database where some contain oscilloscopes of the new type and others of the old type. When you open in INCA V7.1 an experiment for the first time which supports or even contains old oscilloscope types, you will be asked whether the experiment shall be converted to support new oscilloscope types exclusively.

To open an experiment for the current workspace in the experiment environment:

In the Experiment menu, select Run experiment.

Click the button.
The hardware in the workspace is initialized.
If initialization is successful, the experiment opens in the experiment environment. In the experiment environment, you can create, configure, and manage experiments.
If a hardware module is not found, a message box opens. Click one of the following buttons:
- Yes, to repeat initialization.
- No, to open the experiment without repeating initialization.
- Cancel, if you do not want to open the experiment.
