You can enter the file including search path either directly (manually or by copy and paste) or select it using the ... button.

The ... button opens a dialog box in which you can select the import file.

Replace objects with same object ID

Defines whether objects that are already part of the INCA database will be overwritten:

  • If the checkbox is checked, the object from the export file will overwrite the original object if is already part of the INCA database. This avoids the creation of copies of database objects which might make the database confusing.
  • If the checkbox is unchecked, a copy of the object from the export file will be created.

Note

As the objects in INCA are managed in a database, the objects are not identified by their name, but by an internal ID. This means:
If an object was renamed in INCA, it still has the original object ID. If you import an object with that object ID and the checkbox is checked, the original object will be overwritten. The imported object will be located in the location of the original database object in INCA (even if the option Import in selected path of database is checked).
If the INCA database contains an object with the same name but different object ID as the object in the import file, and the object will be imported to the same folder, then a suffix will be appended to the imported object.

Import in selected path of database

Specifies where the objects from the export file will be located in the INCA database:

  • If the checkbox is checked, the objects will be imported into the folder which you previously marked.
  • If the checkbox is unchecked, the objects will be imported to the Root folder in the INCA database.

Keep folder structure from the export file

Specifies whether the folder structure from the export file shall be kept. If this checkbox is unchecked, the objects in the export file will be added to the same folder (i.e. flat without any sub-folders).

Generate/button.gif OK

The OK button opens a dialog box in which you can choose which of the database objects contained in the file you want to import.

If you have previously entered no file name but only a directory name in the File box, a file selection dialog is initially displayed in which you can select the desired import file.

Generate/button.gifCancel

The Cancel button closes the dialog box.
