Reading a Destination Dataset from a File

Destination datasets are only required to compare or copy datasets.

To read a destination dataset from a file:

  1. In the Datasets menu, select Read destination from file and the corresponding menu function:

    • Read from file, to read a dataset from a file in one of the available data exchange formats.
    • Update from file, to read new data from a data exchange file. This option overwrites any changes made in CDM.

    • Connect to ASAP2 project, if the data from the data exchange file are to be supplemented by additional information from the ECU-Project (A2L), for example, Data Types, Long Names.

      A file selection dialog box opens.

  2. If the desired file is not displayed, select All files.
  3. Select a file.

  4. Click Open.

    The selected dataset is transferred to the list of destination dataset.
