Detailed Information - Instant Compare
If you enable instant comparison in the settings, the variables and possibly functions of the source dataset are compared with those of the active destination datasets.
The following tables show, which result the CDM displays in the Variables & functions to process group box during compare operations.
3 examples are provided: with one, two and with three destination datasets. The results of the comparison with several destination datasets are particularly important to explain. It might happen, for example, that one variable is found only in one part of the destination datasets. This case is also explained as an example in the sample tables.
The sample source dataset contains 25 functions Inst_001 to Inst_025 each with 3 variables V1, V2 and V3. The destination datasets show which particular functions and variables are present in which version:
- X: the function or variable is present in the corresponding destination dataset and identical with the source.
- v: the function is present in the corresponding destination dataset, but in another version.
- x: the variable is present in the corresponding destination dataset, but has other contents.
Symbol | Meaning for Functions | Meaning for Variables |
| Function including its variables is present in at least one destination and in all destinations, where it is present identical with the source. | The variable is present in at least one destination and in all destinations, where it is present identical with the source. |
| In at least one destination the function or at least one if the variables differs from the source. | In at least one destination the variable differs from the source. |
| If two or more destination datasets are activated: the function including its variables is present in exactly one dataset and identical with the source. | If two or more destination datasets are activated: the variable is present in exactly one dataset and identical with the source. |
| If two or more destination datasets are activated: the function including its variables is present in exactly one dataset and different from the source. | If two or more destination datasets are activated: the variable is present in exactly one dataset and different from the source. |
| If two or more destination datasets are activated: the function including its variables is present in all datasets and each is identical with the source. | If two or more destination datasets are activated: the variable is present in all datasets and each is identical with the source. |
| If two or more destination datasets are activated: the function including its variables is present in all datasets and in at least one destination different from the source. | If two or more destination datasets are activated: the variable is present in all datasets and in at least one destination different from the source. |
| The function or all its variables are not present in any of the active destination datasets. | The variable is not present in any of the active destination datasets. |

If the add-on INCA-QM-BASIC was
installed with INCA, the quality meta data may be compared as well; for the comparison of these quality meta data, additional symbols will be displayed, for example,
: status "calibrated", quality meta data not equal.
For more detailed information, see the help
for the INCA-QM-BASIC add-on (only available if
INCA-QM-BASIC has also been installed).
