CDM Settings for Comparisons: Attributes
To go to this tab, click the Settings
toolbar button and select the Compare tab. In the Compare tab, double-click in the Value field of the Attributes option.
You can set the following values for each option:
always list | For the selected element, the values in the different datasets are not compared. The element is always listed in the output file. |
compare and list always | For the selected element, the values in the different datasets are compared. The element is always listed in the output file. |
compare and list if different | For the selected element, the values in the different datasets are compared. The element is listed in the output file only if differences are found. |
never list | For the selected element, the values in the different datasets are not compared. The element is not listed in the output file. |

Quality Meta Data is available only if the add-on INCA-QM BASIC is installed with INCA. |
You can select the following attributes of the variables for the Compare action (ASAM-2MC keywords for the attributes in square brackets):
Long identifier
Long identifier of variable. [LONG_IDENTIFIER]
Display identifier
Variable name defined for display. [DISPLAY_IDENTIFIER]
Value (phys)
The physical value of the variable. Determined from the dataset.
Value (hex)
The implementation value of the variable in hexadecimal notation. Determined from the dataset.
Unit
The unit of the variable. [Unit]
Soft limits (phys)
Upper and lower limit of value range as physical value.
[LowerLimit, UpperLimit]Soft limits (hex)
Upper and lower limit of value range in hexadecimal notation.
[LowerLimit, UpperLimit]Hard limits (phys)
If present, the extended upper and lower limits of value range as physical value. [EXTENDED_LIMITS]
Hard limits (hex)
If present, the extended upper and lower limits of value range in hexadecimal notation. [EXTENDED_LIMITS]
Conversion name
Name of conversion formula for the variable. [Conversion]
Conversion formula
Computation method for conversion between implementation and physical value of the variable. [COMPU_METHOD]
Bitmask
Bitmask for evaluating the variable. [BIT_MASK]
Current number of axis points
Actual number of axis points of an axis. Determined from the dataset.
Max. number of axis points
Permissible maximum number of axis points of an axis. [MaxAxisPts]
Maplist
List of maps a CUBOID is made up of. If MAP_LIST is used at CHARACTERISTIC, only one AXIS_DESCR is accepted. This AXIS_DESCR describes the Z-axis. [MAP_LIST]
Address
Memory address of variable in control device. [ADDRESS]
Data type
Data type of a variable.
Type
ASAM-2MC variable type. [TYPE]
Dependency on other characteristics
Interdependencies with other variables. [DEPENDENT_CHARACTERISTIC]
Formula for dependency
Formula that defines the interdependence with other variables. [DEPENDENT_CHARACTERISTIC]
Functions
Names of functions in which the variable is used. The assignment is defined in the definition of the ASAM-2MC variables. [FUNCTION_LIST]
Defining function
Names of functions in which the variable is defined. The assignment is defined in the definition of the ASAM-2MC variables. [FUNCTION]
For the individual attributes, a definition is made about whether they are to be compared and listed, compared only, listed only, or completely skipped.
