Using Polling Mode
You can measure variables by using polling mode.
Select the polling mode in the following cases:
If you are using an ECU that does not support raster based measurement, polling mode allows you to measure the signals.
Note
In this case, only the polling rasters are displayed in the raster grid on the Variables tab.
If you are using an ECU that allows both, raster based measurement and polling mode, you can use polling mode in addition to raster based measurement to enlarge the number of signals.
To reduce the system load and to benefit from the more accurate sampling mechanisms of the ECU, use raster based measurement. If the rasters are full, use polling mode. For example, move inert signals like temperatures to polling rasters.
To assign variables to a polling raster, includes the same steps as described in Allocating Variables to a Raster.
Note |
The signal size for polling mode is restricted to 4 byte measurements. Polling mode is not supported for the INCA Tool API. MCD3, MIP, and INCA-Flow do not provide the polling rasters. Moreover, polling mode is not supported for INCA-MCE. |
