Options: Logging Tab (ASAM-MCD 3MC V1.0)
To go to this tab, click the Options
toolbar button and select the Logging tab.
You can make the following settings for logging:
General Logging:
In this section you can select which log information shall be visualized on screen and/or written to the log file (ASAP3.LOG in the ETAS\LogFiles\Asap3 folder).
The activity log refers to actions that can also be executed via the INCA user interface, e.g. select specific measure variables. The interface log refers to the MCD3 COM interface traffic.
Changes in this section will apply only for entries created after the change.
Activity-Log to screen
Activity log information is displayed on the screen.
Activity-Log to file
Activity log information is written to the log file.
The file is not automatically deleted; new log data is appended if the file already exists.
Interface-Log to screen
Interface log information is displayed on the screen. The file is not automatically deleted; new log data is appended if the file already exists.
Interface-Log to file
Interface log information is written to the log file.

Max. Logfile size
Defines the total file size of up to 5 log files.
When a fifth of the maximum size is reached, a new log file will be created. As soon as there are 5 log files, the oldest log file will be deleted providing space for the newly created file, thereby ensuring that the latest log information is still available.
Interface Logging:
In this section you can further specify the log level for interface logging and determine whether calibration data access shall be logged.
Exceptions
Logs all error messages during an ASAM MCD 3MC session.
Exceptions and client commands
Logs all error messages and ASAM MCD 3MC commands with parameters sent from the testbed.
Exceptions, client commands and server responses
Logs all error messages, all ASAM MCD 3MC commands with parameters sent from the testbed, as well as all responses, events and error messages sent to the testbed.
Log calibration data changes (write access)
Logs all write accesses to calibration data during an ASAM MCD 3MC session.
Log calibration data reading
Logs all read accesses to calibration data during an ASAM MCD 3MC session.
