Automotive Ethernet

The ES166.1-FEmodule supports the transport of Ethernet frames via the 10Base-T1S interface.
The device supports the following operating modes:

• Gateway mode

  In this mode, Ethernet frames are time-stamped by the device’s microcontroller and transmitted to the host device (e.g. ESxxx).
  The user can identify each ES166.1-FE module connected to the aggregation device (e.g. ES600.2) and, if required, send different data via the individual modules.

• Media Converter mode

  In this mode, the device transparently forwards transmitted and received Ethernet frames without modification.
  The user cannot distinguish between multiple devices connected to the same aggregation device (e.g. ES600.2). The same data is transmitted via all connected devices.
