Remove special characters

Measurement data can contain signal labels or device names with special characters that are not supported by downstream tools. Use the Remove special characters operation to sanitize these names without changing the measured signal values.

You can sanitize signal labels, device names, or both. Characters that are not kept can be replaced with one character or removed.

1. After adding the Remove special characters operation, select Sanitize signal labels, Sanitize device names, or both.

2. Select the available Keep options for character groups that must remain unchanged.

3. In Replacement character, enter the character that replaces characters that are not kept. Leave the field empty to remove these characters instead.
