Normalizing signal names across measurement files

Different measurement files may use different signal names for the same measurement. The Map signal names operation maps these signals to one common name, which you can use directly in subsequent operations in the same job.

To normalize signal names, follow these steps.

  1. In the Sources step of the Create job tab, add the measurement files that contain the differently named signals.

  2. In the Operations step, click and select Map signal names from the list.

  3. In the Map signal names step, go to the Standard name input field and enter a name for the new signal.

  4. In the Candidate signals section:

    • In the Signal name input field, enter one of the original signal names.

    • To add another name used for the same measurement in another file, click Add candidate and enter the name in the new Signal name input field.

  5. (Optional) To add another mapping, click Add mapped signal and repeat from step 2.

  6. The common mapped signal is available for use in subsequent processing operations.
