Axes Convert/Invert

Parameters step > > Convert/Invert Axes

The Axes Convert/Invert window contains the following elements:

Type

Use the drop-down list to select the type of parameter you want to convert or invert. Available selections are Curve, Map, Cube-3D, and Cube-4D.

The corresponding formula is displayed to the right, from y = f(x) for curves to z3 = f(x, y, z, z2) for 4D cubes.

Parameter table

The table shows all parameters of the selected type.

Apply To: For each parameter you want to convert/invert, activate the checkbox in this column.

Monotone in *Closed = x or y or z or z2: Indicates whether the parameters are monotonous along the axis.

Result Axes

Use the drop-down list to convert/invert the axes of the parameters. For example, you can invert a curve by swapping the X and Y axes.

Fitting Smoothness

Enter a smoothing factor for the resulting parameters. A higher value means more smoothing.

Result Support Vectors

Use the drop-down list to select a specification mode for each resulting axis.

Optimize: The axis points are distributed in such a way that the resulting axis is optimally covered.

Begin/End: Use the input fields to specify the lower and upper limits of the axis. The axis points are evenly distributed.

Support Vector: The axis points are specified in the input field as a vector, e.g., [13.14 31.44 49.73 68.03 86.33].

This mode can be used to specify unevenly distributed axis points. When you add or delete an axis point, the value in the corresponding Count field is updated.

From Data: Uses the axis points from the input parameter.

Count

The Count fields specify the number of axis points. If you change the value while Support Vector is selected in the corresponding drop-down list, a new vector is created with the new number of equidistant axis points.

Suffix

The string you enter here will be added to the parameter name.

If a parameter named <parameter_name>_<suffix> already exists, you will be asked if you want to overwrite it when you click Create.

Create

Performs the conversion/inversion of each selected parameter and creates new parameters for the results.

Close

Closes the window and discards your settings.
