Note  

PowerPoint must be installed and all instances must be closed before opening the PowerPoint Report Generator.

The PowerPoint Report Generator allows you to create a report by inserting visualization elements or text into placeholders from a PowerPoint template. The window contains the following elements:

PowerPoint Template

To select existing PowerPoint slides or templates on which to base your report, use the Choose File button.

To update the window content after a change in the visualizations or in the PowerPoint template, use the button.

Output

To select a storage location and a file name, use the Choose File button.

When you are satisfied with your slide settings, use the Generate Report button to generate the PPT report.

New Slide (from Template)

In the drop-down list, all the slide layouts available in the template are listed. Select the slide layout you want to use and click the Create Section button.

Change existing Slide

In the drop-down list, all the slides already existing in the PPT file are listed. Select the slide you want to edit and click the Create Section button.

New/Existing Slides

After you create a section using the Create Section button, you can edit it using the following settings.

From the left drop-down lists, select the template placeholder you want to fill with content.

From the right drop-down lists, select the visualization element you want to fill the placeholder with.

To enter a free text instead of a visualization element, use the button.

To add another mapping row, use the + Add New Mapping button.

Note  

Each placeholder of a slide can only be selected once.

To delete the entire section, use the button in the upper left corner.

To delete a mapping, use the button next to the row.

Cancel

Discards your settings and closes the window.

Save and Close

Saves your settings and closes the window. All settings are still available when you reopen the window.
