Copying/Moving Diagram Items in the Same Diagram

This topic applies only to SWCs specified as block diagrams.

  1. In the drawing area, select the diagram items you want to cut or copy.

    A selected item is marked by handles at its edges.

  2. To cut the selected items, do Closedone of the following.

    1. In the Edit menu, select Cut.
    2. Press <Ctrl> + <x>.
    3. Click Cut.

    The selected items are deleted from the diagram and moved to the clipboard.

  3. To copy the selected items, do Closedone of the following.

    1. In the Edit menu, select Copy.
    2. Press <Ctrl> + <c>.
    3. Click Copy.

    The selected items are copied to the clipboard without deleting them from the drawing area.

  4. To paste the items, do Closedone of the following.

    1. In the Edit menu, select Paste.
    2. Press <Ctrl> + <v>.
    3. Click Paste.

    The diagram items from the clipboard are inserted close their previous locations. Pasted sequence calls are reset.

    Note

    You create a new graphical occurrence of the same element, not a new element, when you paste the diagram item from the clipboard to the diagram.

  5. Drag the new diagram items to a suitable location.
  6. Edit the pasted sequence calls.
  7. If your selection contained method-local elements, make sure that the return value is assigned only once and has the highest sequence number.
