Creating a Normal or Fixed Characteristic Line/Map

1. In the combo box of the Elements palette or with the arrow buttons in the toolbar, select the table type Normal or Fixed.

2. Click the OneD Table or TwoD Table button.

   The Properties editor opens. Since all characteristic lines/maps are created as parameters, the non-volatile attribute is set and the option is disabled.

3. Adjust the element properties according to your needs.

4. Adjust the maximum number of sample points in the Dimension fields.

   Note
   Fixed characteristic lines/maps should have at least 2 sample points per axis. Otherwise, monotony cannot be achieved.

5. In the Interpolation combo box, select an interpolation routine for the characteristic line/map.

   By default, the combo box contains two interpolation routines, Linear and Rounded. More are added when you use user-defined interpolation routines.

6. Click OK.

   If you exceeded the maximum size of the element in the Dimension fields, the following warning opens:

   The possible max size has to be between 1 and <limit>.
   Please adjust your settings.

   For characteristic lines, <limit> is 2048.

   For characteristic maps, <limit> is 63@63.

7. Confirm the warning with OK.
8. If you are working in the block diagram editor for SWCs, place the element in the drawing area.
9. If necessary, re-open the Properties editor and adjust the size.
