Using the AUTOSAR to ASCET Converter

The AUTOSAR to ASCET converter is an alternative to the import via the File menu (see Importing from ARXML or A2L Files). A detailed description of the AUTOSAR to ASCET converter and its functionality is given in the AUTOSAR To ASCET Converter user guide.

In the Component Manager, open the target database or workspace for the import.
To set up ARXML import, do the following:
1. Open the ASCET options window in the Interfaces\Import node.
2. In the Platform Types field, enter the correct AUTOSAR package for the platform implementation types.
3. Click OK to close the .ASCET options window.
In the Tools menu, select AUTOSAR to ASCET Converter.
The AUTOSAR to ASCET Transfer window opens.
You can press <Ctrl> + <Alt> + <o> to open the preferences window and adjust the conversion options.
In the AUTOSAR Model field, use the button to select the *.arxml file(s) you want to import.
You can select more than one *.arxml file from more than one directory, but all files must have the same AUTOSAR version. Otherwise, the conversion aborts with an error.
[ERROR] file [<path>\<filename>.arxml] has an ARXML version V<a>.<b>.<c> but files before are belonging to ARXML version V<x>.<y>.<z>
Use the Remove or Remove all button to clean up the list.
In the Output field, enter or select (via the button) a directory for the resulting *.amd files.
This directory is used to store the *.amd files created from the *.arxml files. You must specify an empty directory; otherwise the conversion aborts with an error.

If desired, click the Load AUTOSAR button and view/select the components in the AUTOSAR model components field.
Click the or button to start the conversion.
The selected *.arxml files are converted to *.amd files and – if the respective converter option is set – imported into ASCET.
