Implementing References

References are implemented much like other elements. Proceed as follows:

ClosedArray, Matrix, Characteristic Line/Map References
  1. Open the implementation editor of the reference, e.g. as described in Opening the Implementation Editor for an Element (B).
  2. Characteristic lines/maps only: Select the tab for the implementation you want to edit.
  3. Specify the implementation as described in Specifying Individual Implementations.
  4. In the Memory Location of Instance combo box, select a memory location for the instance (i.e. the referenced element).
  5. In the Memory Location of Reference combo box, select a memory location for the reference.
  6. Characteristic lines/maps only: Select another tab to edit the next implementation.
  7. Click OK to close the implementation editor for the reference.
ClosedComponent References

  1. Open the implementation editor for the reference, e.g. as described in Opening the Implementation Editor of an Included Component (A).

  2. If necessary, click the button to open the implementation editor of the referenced component.
  3. In the Memory Location of Instance combo box, select a memory location for the instance (i.e. the referenced component).
  4. In the Memory Location of Reference combo box, select a memory location for the reference.
  5. Click OK to close the implementation editor for the reference.
