Using the Size Operators

The Size X and Size Y operators can be inserted via the Basic Blocks palette or toolbar or via the context menu of a composite elementClosed (= array, matrix, characteristic line/map or distribution).

  1. To add a Size X or Size Y block via the Basic Blocks palette, do the following:

    1. Click the Size X or Size Y button.

      This loads the mouse cursor with the respective operator.

    2. Place the operator in the drawing area.

    3. Right-click a composite element and select Get/Set Ports from the context menu.

      The Get and Set ports of the element are displayed.

    4. Connect the input of the Size X operator to the Get port of a composite element.

    5. Connect the input of the Size Y operator to the Get port of a matrix or characteristic map.

      Note

      The input of a Size Y operator must not be connected to the Get port of an array, characteristic line or distribution.

  2. To add a Size X or Size Y block via the context menu of a composite element, do the following:

    1. Right-click the composite element and select Append Size X Operator or Append Size Y Operator from the context menu.

      Note

      Append Size Y Operator is only available for matrices and characteristic maps.

      This loads the mouse cursor with the respective operator.

    2. Place the operator in the drawing area.

      If the Get port of the composite element is not yet visible, it appears now. The Get port and the operator input are connected automatically.

  3. Connect the operator output to a suitable element.
