Copying/Moving Items in the Same Diagram (BDE)

Note

You create a new graphical occurrence of the same element, not a new element, when you paste a diagram item from the clipboard to the diagram.

  1. In the drawing area, select the diagram items you want to cut or copy.

A selected item is marked by handles at its edges.

  2. To cut the selected items, do Closedone of the following.

    • In the Edit menu, select Cut.
    • Press <Ctrl> + <x>.
    • Click Cut.

The selected items are deleted from the diagram and moved to the clipboard.

  3. To copy the selected items, do Closedone of the following.

    • In the Edit menu, select Copy.
    • Press <Ctrl> + <c>.
    • Click Copy.

The selected items are copied to the clipboard without deleting them from the drawing area.

  4. To paste the items, do Closedone of the following.

    • In the Edit menu, select Paste.
    • Press <Ctrl> + <v>.
    • Click Paste.

The diagram items from the clipboard are inserted close their previous locations. Pasted sequence calls are reset.

  5. Drag the new diagram items to a suitable location.
  6. Edit the pasted sequence calls.
  7. If your selection contained method-local elements, make sure that the return value is assigned only once and has the highest sequence number.
